Mega Cat Studios Collection 1 Evercade Review
Almost Hero is basically just a bad version of River City Ransom and it is so boring. 5/10
Creepy Brawlers is a clone of Punch-Out that's actually pretty good, but not as good as the classic. 7/10
Coffee Crisis is a pretty bland beat 'em up that tries really hard to be funny, but it fails and just makes the game worse. 4/10
Justice Duel is a pretty fun game that plays a lot like Joust, but with guns. Oh, and Merica too. 7/10
Log Jammers is a good mix of Breakout and something like Windjammers that ends up being pretty good. 8/10
Little Medusa is a great little puzzle game that I can recommend to fans of the Lolo games. 8.5/10
Multidude is a very fun Puzzle game that's creative (unlike half the games on this cartridge) and has some good graphics and music. 9/10
Old Towers is a stunningly beautiful puzzle game that's very fun to play, has insanely good music, and is one of best puzzle games on the Evercade. 9.5/10
Super Painter is what you would get by mixing a platformer with City Connection, and it is amazing. 9/10
Tanzer is why you should get this cartridge, it a stunning platformer/hack 'n slash where you're a robot, kill other robots, get upgrades, then kill more robots. It might just be my favorite game you can play on the Evercade (this or Xenocrisis). It also has gorgeous graphics and one of the best soundtracks when it comes to Sega Genesis games. 10/10
The Mega Cat Studios Collection 1 is a pretty good cart, but about half of the games on it are just clones of much better games. The games Old Towers, Super Painter, and Tanzer make it worth owning the collection though because of them being both very original and vey fun. Overall, the Mega Cat Studios Collection 1 is a 8.5/10 and I am excited to play the games on Mega Cat Studios Collection 2 in four months.
