Devil May Cry Review
Devil May Cry is one helluva action game. Anyone that plays action games should absolutely play Devil May Cry. Sure, it's a bit dated, but I think it's still worth giving a shot.
The Graphics haven't aged fantastically, but that shouldn't be a surprise, it's a 2001 PS2 game, of course it doesn't look great. If you're a guy who really cares about graphics, don't play Devil May Cry, if you don't really care for graphics, just don't expect anything special.
The music of Devil May Cry is 66% eerie and 34% Awesome music for killing demons with an electric sword and a shotgun. My favorite song would have to be Public Enemy. The battle themes are amazing and really make you feel like you are an unstoppable demon slayer who may make devils cry. I don't care much for the eerie music though, it fits a lot more in a Resident Evil game instead of a game where you stab the hell out of millions of demons then jump on them and while in the air, shoot them a billion times with your pistols. Though that might be because it was originally going to be Resident Evil 4.
The story is pretty good in Devil May Cry, you play as a demon hunter who's going to fight an evil devil. There, is that enough? But seriously, the story is good, but I have a feeling a lot of players don't care about the story in an action game like Devil May Cry and just want constant action, there is a bit of a problem for players like that when it comes to gameplay which I'll explain.
The gameplay has one problem for people who want constant action which is that there isn't constant action. There are a couple times in the game where you have to just walk around and do little puzzles like finding some special orb then putting that orb into a random place. The only other problem is that the game has fixed camera angles which can make controlling Dante through a large space feel strange since there's no option for tank controls. Besides those two problems, the gameplay is fantastic and extremely fun! Killing hordes of demons is satisfying, especially if you can pull off a stylish combo.
Devil May Cry is an action game that I can recommend to a lot of people. It's just a really fun game. You can buy the PS2 game for around 10 bucks, the switch version for 20, or the steam collection with the original trilogy for 30. One thing to know is that the game isn't incredibly long, only took me around 6 hours to finish, but I think that's the perfect length for a game like Devil May Cry. Overall, I give Devil May Cry a 8.5/10 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxGF7bJ-Lsg
